Is there anything good about GMOs?

I keep reading about the dangers and horrors of GMOs. My wife just bought some granola bars from CVS or some shite and there's a HUGE "NO GMOs" sticker painted on the box.
But haven't GMOs done some good for the world? Or are they truly just evil tactics by corporations like Monsanto in order to increase riches for a few billionaires?

That's kind of the low hanging fruit I already know about. But what about the actual products? Are they inherently deleterious to human health outside of preventing starvation? Any literature you know of that would touch on this?

just to let you know, "GMO Free" doesnt necessarily mean gmo free. still has up to 5% gmo in it.

They are fine. Just a bunch of hippies in protest. Fear mongering.

It's kind of the important low hanging fruit though. Without gmo, you aren't here.

GMOs have saved millions from starvation. They are one of the greatest things mankind has created. I would rank them right behind antibiotics as far as number of lives saved.

Google "roundup ready".
GMOs allow the use of less toxic, non-selective herbicides. They reduce cost of production and increase yield.

Gmo's are being developed.that require exponentially less water to grow. That is a huge deal for most of the world. Also the ability to use either less or more specific fertilizers would have the greatest environmental impact of any development in human history. This reduction of fertilizer use will reduce pollution to unimaginable levels due to reduced needs for feedstock and less runoff. Why the greenies are against gmo's is a mystery.

Also, EPA did worst case scenario glyphosate study and WORST CASE, 0/1,000,000 people will die from eating only roundup grown crops
Eta- for some reason no other countries will buy GMO rice. Some kind of big debacle with BASF I think. But they'll buy GMO corn and soybeans. Makes no sense, and sucks since rice is the main staple of the world

But how can we overcome the rhetoric that the EPA is government and government is big business hand-in-hand with corporations?

the anti-GMO crowd is really anti-science, even though they will not admit it
there has never been any study done that shows GMOs to be harmful to animals or humans

how about this study by UC-Davis that studied over 100 billion animals that were fed genetically engineered crop biomass and

did not reveal unfavorable or perturbed trends in livestock health and productivity.

the EPA passes all these restrictions on O&G and "the EPA is a bunch of environmental wackjobs!"
the EPA says GMOs are safe and "the EPA is in the pocket of Monsanto and hates the environment!"
