I took him back to court because he wasn't taking care of the things we agreed on. We agreed to split the tuition plus 600$(child support amt from divorce in 2001 ). After I had to pay his half of the tuition last school year that was it. He makes alot more than I do. Child support increased to $2000 a month.
So he owes you around $30,000 a year for a college age kid? Your kid couldn't get TOPS? Doesn't the child support end after the kid turns 19?
The math on that means he owes you $24,000 out of around a $69K a year income (35%) which is pulled before taxes. Then he has to pay taxes on $69k a year income. Just saying, if my kid was 18...I'd roll too.

The kid is 16 and is a junior in high school.
That said, I'm married, husband has a good income, I work part time so that I can take care of everything else. And I don't have a maid! My mom was a single mom for a while and eventually remarried and I seem to recall doing HOUSEWORK.
But yes, the dad should pay what he owes ... and the courts do set that amount ... but if he doesn't do what you legally can to track him down but in the meantime, cut things like a maid and an iPhone out!
