Question regarding Jennings vs Harris

With a 77% run to pass ratio, why not have have Harris in there where the threat of the pass is more believable than having Jennings in there?
My main concern is that a team like Alabama will stack the box and say, "Jenning's, beat us with your arm!".
Do we really think he can do it?
I am not confident that Jennings can do it and based on his passing performance in the Ole Miss game and previous games this season, I feel its justified. He tends to stare down receivers and throws the ball even when receivers are not open.
I still believe Harris is the more viable option going forward, whether its this year or next year.

I have faith in Les but I cannot live through another Bama a$$ whooping in the state of Louisiana

dude ... for real... you would think victory over a top ten opponent would settle this
Harris isn't ready to start. I dont care how live your arm is, you have to know the offense to play.
I am all for future discussions and in that vein, as soon as the bowl game is over... competition is wide open. But for now, Jennings is the starter. END OF STORY

So over being scared of the "Stacking of the Box." We're LSU. We like to run the ball. When you like to run the ball teams stack the box. We expect it. We embrace it. We violently tear through it.

Aren't you describing the defensive philosophy Ole Miss used against us. How did that work for them.

Slow your roll buddy before all the positigers come running in here bragging about how they were right about everything and Jennings is perfect for us RIGHT NOW. 8/16 143 1 td 2 int and a should-have-been pick 6. That's complimentary football. Do not question it. The coaches know more than you. DIAF. Etc, etc.

Just to be fair Ole Miss has a small line and LBs. Bama will clog that line with some 320lb+ guys and line backer/ DEs that are about Beckwith size and bigger

Okay, so then tell us why they have decided to stick with Jennings, even though Harris is, according to some of you, the best QB on the team.

Defense played exceptional, so not much offense was needed. Granted, offensively, LSU beat itself with the turnovers and they left a lot of points out on the field but if the defense wasn't on its A game, can anyone say that if we had to pass, we would of been effective with Jennings in the game?
My only point is if this team is going to continue to have a pass to run ratio of 65-75%, isn't the better passing QB a better option to sell the threat of a pass, which would make running more effective? I also believe that Harris is a better passer, so if you have to pass, I would rather have him in the game than Jennings.
This is just my observation and nothing more. I am happy with the teams success but I believe its a legit discussion.

Well. Jennings had 'statistically' a better game against a better Ole Miss team, then Mettenberger had in his senior year against a worse Ole Miss team.
So. I think, given the circumstances and the young QB the benefit of the doubt, Jennings will improve over time. He may not beat Bama in his first year (how many times did Zac beat Bama) but he will get better.

jennings is going to have to make some throws on the secondary of alabama, and I think he can do it.
bama's secondary is suspect as hell this year

Same shite was said for ole miss.

Wisconsin was stuffing the run the whole first half bro. They lost 2 starters on their D - Line and went to a nickle package. Plus the deep bomb to dural opened things up. Look I'm not agreeing with the OP or disagreeing. We will run the ball , but it won't be easy and we will need balance

This will be "interesting". I really wonder whether LSU can run over 'Bama like they did Ole Miss. Make no mistake, they ran roughshod over Ole Miss. We will find out in less than two weeks whether:
1. LSU will need to pass to some degree to beat 'Bama
2. If the LSU D can handle 'Bama like they did Ole Miss.

After Jenning's second interception, I wanted Harris to come in because both of his interceptions were ill advised. Miles has different rules for different players. If Hillard fumbles you don't seen him again for awhile. When Jenning's throws 2 interceptions in one game, Jennings is allowed back in the game like the interceptions never happened.

I expect Jennings to make a 2012 Mettsiah-esque improvement over the bye week getting ready for the Bama game

Harris has shown that he hasn't even mastered the snap from center yet, much less know the offense.
He's run a different play than the rest of the offense multiple times in almost every appearance he's had.
He's definitely got the skills, but he's not near ready to be a starter yet.
