Hey Friends. I'm moving to Florida at the end of January. I don't really want to go but my wife is set on it. I just want to buy a bunch of land that I can be happy on. Let my dog run and such. I like my job but will have to find another. Mud is a very crazy man but is being pulled in different directions. I'll make my home where ever my head lays but I don't want to deal with any bull. We will be moving to Orlando. I don't want to deal with any bullshite. It's a big move but frick it. Lets roll.

Orlando metro area blows.....been here since '98 & if I could have a re-do I would not move here.
Coastal area's are/can be nice depending on where you decide on.
Have some great friends & enjoy what I do.....that being said.....It will never be home!

Some nice places in Florida but Orlando isn't one of them. I'd shoot myself first.
We're moving to Florida in the spring, low population density area near the Gulf, cheap land so we have enough for our own lake. Fresh and salt water fishing for me, beaches for the wif. Kayaking and other outdoor stuff. Gonna be nice.

Lived in metro Jax for a couple years and honestly miss it.
Thought more than once about moving back.

I live in Orlando and it is a nice city. (moved here about 2 years ago)
You can work in Orlando and still have land. I live near down town, however I know a lot of people who commute in from areas like: Oviedo, Deltona, Debarry, Sanford, Lake Mary, Clermont, Apopka, etc...I even know a few people who drive in from Merritt Island but that is a bit far.
Everything depends on where you work and what kind of commute you can deal with. I4 has a lot of traffic however the toll roads around the city flow fairly well.
If you like the outdoors there are a lot of really nice things to do as far as hunting/fishing go.
Good luck to you

I live on the coastal area in South Florida. Good luck with Orlando. It is nice but the traffic can be horrendous. I would live somewhere as far as reasonable outside of metro Orlando. As others have said, it is not home. One thing you will notice, they sure cannot cook seafood like they do in Louisiana.
