Having our fan base grow a pair and not have their vagina bruised by a little traffic.

poor excuse...fans bitch after any play that doesn't go for either 10 yards, a TD or a first down. First and goal on the 2, the back is stopped for no gain, and it's "WHAT THE frick WAS THAT??!!". Same play scores on the next play, "YEEAAHHH, THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT!!!!"
This X Eleventy Billion.
It's excruciating.
There are two brothers that sit behind me...older guys. They spend nearly the entire game bitching about one thing or another... This weekend it was that Harris was not getting playing time. Non fricking stop. Then he goes in, and they give a sarcastic cheer only to be followed by grumbling when he first play was not a pass. then it began to be bitching about not passing. then Harris throws a pick in the end zone and...wait for it...bitching about why we threw there.
FUCCCCCCCCK!!!!!

So your "evidence" was comparing the game in 2011 which was one of if not the best team LSU has ever fielded, ranked #1, running through a gauntlet of regular season games never seen before in amazing fashion and playing entertaining football on BOTH sides of the ball
If there was only another game where LSU was ranked very high, playing great football and blew a team out and the crowd stayed.... hmmmm
How about Va Tech 2007? What will your reasoning be to ignore this game?
The second photo is DEEP into the fourth quarter and the stadium is more full than Auburn was last year at halftime and more full than Ky was early in the third.
Before we go on, how many games do I need to provide for you that disprove your theory before you realize it's bogus? Is the fact that it rained during the Auburn game going to be the one thing that validates the opinion that LSU fans have ALWAYS left early during blow outs and Auburn is the exception because LSU was really good and it was raining?

God that sounds miserable. I'm lucky to have reasonable people that sit around me. VERY lucky.

I know it's been mentioned but the best way is to sell booze. Most people that leave early are either heading to the bar or back to their tailgate where there is plenty of alcohol.
Especially this year, where all of our games are after 6. That's 10+ hours of day drinking.

1. Traffic is a piss poor excuse, I listen to the post game and relax
2. Remember this is La. Infrastructure should have been completed 20 years ago.
3. I still do not understand someone taking the time to drive, park, tailgate, walk to their seats and leave early, just poor fans
4. And remember this is La., 50 years behind the rest of the Country. Baton Rouge may be one of the most dirty Capital in the Country

How about a game, against a highly ranked team, that LSU was handling with ease and it rained.
In 2007, LSU played South Carolina and it was described as, "Tropical depression rain switched between heavy and light all afternoon in Tiger Stadium and soaked all 92,530 in the stands. But, the third-largest crowd in Tiger Stadium history was anything but depressed by the weather or the result as No. 2 LSU smothered 12th-ranked South Carolina long enough to come away with a 28-16 win. "
LSU was up 28-7 in the fourth quarter (USCe needed 9 late fourth quarter points to make the game appear closer than what it was). At the time, this crowd seemed sparse late in the fourth quarter....now, it would be considered hostile.
28-7 at the end of the third

running clock after first downs will speed up the game tremendously.
I agree. Plus games should only go to commercial at injury and team timeouts, end of quarter/half. Networks can put advertisements near the score graphic and/or on the field like 1st down line.
My ranking of the issues:
1) Length of game
2) Traffic
3) Lack of excitement surrounding program (winning is more relieving than exciting)
4) Lack of Alcohol
5) Other college football content (updates, highlights, etc.)

2.5 hours before kickoff?? I was with you on all of this other than that part. WTF are you doing for 2.5 hours? I get there about 40 minutes prior to make sure I see pregame and all of that but are you getting there to watch the players get stretched out?
Yeah...I'm usually the first person up the escalator each week.
As for why, it's pretty simple, though not everyone would agree and that's fine. I'm there entirely for the football game. So, I want to get into the place where they play the game as soon as they'll let me. I don't really tailgate any more, so I'm not leaving something awesome...where I'm going is way better.
I've never once run into "traffic" getting into the stadium. Remember hearing about that cluster frick that was getting into the EUD a few games ago? Yeah...I miss that entirely. Every time.
I also like watching the guys enter the stadium...theirs and ours. I enjoy watching warm-ups...watching it the QB's are hitting guys in stride even in warm-ups or not.
This year they've been playing whatever the big game is that day on the screens, which has been nice.
I usually grab whatever food I'm going to get pretty early, and then I'm done with that usually for the night. I'll go grab a Coke or something at halftime or between quarters, but I'm usually not going to be fumbling around with food during the game.
Plenty of reasons. It's not for everyone...but it's part of my game day ritual.

#2 vs #9 maybe. Game was really entertaining. Home opener
Auburn was unranked and coming off a shite season when we played them last year also. Nobody thought they were THAT good at the time. People left. Deal with it.

I don't need you to "disprove" anything. I've been in Tiger Stadium for 25+ years. I've seen the bad years. I've seen the good years. I also know that times are changing and people don't NEED to be in the stadium to see the game anymore. I've acknowledged that. But I'm also not going to act like it's solely an LSU problem and there is something inherently wrong with our fanbase for it. Don't know what else to tell you. Not many people are going to be super excited to sit in a stadium past 11 PM to watch a 2 loss LSU team beat the crap out of an extremely outmanned Kentucky. I left with a few minutes lest to meet my ride at the car. Still sat in traffic. If people want or have to leave early for whatever reason, who cares

Less piped-in music.
Effective offense.
LSU Defense.

I love how I keep getting "educated" that when our team is ranked #1 or #2 people are more excited at the games than they are when we have 2 losses and are unranked and playing Kentucky

The Auburn game last year was an embarrassment.
The weather was far from ideal and Auburn wasn't considered a good team at that juncture.

My point is blaming it on the fans is stupid and pointless. That's like a business calling its customers pussies and bandwagon customers for not shopping there anymore. Blockbuster didn't go out of business because people suck. They went out of business because someone else came along with a better business model that gave the customers what they wanted. People want alcohol. People want less traffic, people want wifi, people want to say STTDB, people want to see Mike the Tiger Roar. People want to see a high powered offense.
That's just reality.
That's just reality.

This will do little to keep fans from leaving early. The school will stop selling by the end of the 3rd quarter. And at $8 a beer, many will still choose to leave early to continue drinking for much less money.
Beer sales will eventually happen but will have little impact on keeping butts in the seats in the 2nd half.

Have one overseer in charge of each section, and have him shoot anybody who tries to escape, I mean leave early.

For some that's not an option
I'm not going to ever tell anyone they ought not bring a child to the game...but this is simply not true.
It's ALWAYS an option, provided you actually consider NOT GOING to the game because you don't have a sitter a real possibility just as most reasonable parents would not bring their young child to some horror movie because they could not find a sitter..
Case in point...I brought my then 3 year old son who had never been to a game and was still in diapers to the TENN Monday night game in 2005. Brutally hot all day, late start, super loud etc. The poor kid was worn out and frazzled by the time LSU first scored and was begging me to take him home.
I realized I had made a HUGE mistake, did the right thing and left with him.
What I had done at first was selfish. I wanted to go to the game, and even though I had no sitter that could watch him, my desire to go trumped the fact that I knew in my heart he was going to be fricking miserable. It had been an option to simply give my tickets away...but I did not take it.
There's always an option to not go. I'm not saying people ought not bring kids...just that pretending that there was nothing else they could do is laughable.
