Wow! All were missing is navy and we are a service academy trying to win games without a passing game but a better defense at least. This will not work against the remaining schedule. At least the service academies use the QB as an option to run. LSU is gonna have to pass the ball or use the QB run option alot more going forward.

How many teams have had bye weeks?

Which makes the 177 passing attempts even worse

Yes, read this in Dandy Don this morning and thought the same. Miles seemed to suggest that there are some things going on in practice, passing-wise, that we just haven't seen yet. Hope we see those things this weekend.

Did you read the rest of Scott's write-up on this or just the first sentence of the paragraph that was posted on Dandy Don's site.

Army: 401 total rushes
LSU: 385 Total rushes

fun stat: when LSU has rushed 47 or more times this year, they have won all of those games.

only two losses had 36 rushes in each of them

You're right. Our running game clearly isn't working.

Oh, wait. . .

If miles would just open his eyes and realize that mercifully ending a blowout means practicing screen passes, this stat wouldn't be so skewed.

Up more than 3 TD's over cupcakes usually turns into a rush-a-palooza.

Why does this surprise anyone? We said this going into the season

This stat is a little surprising indeed; however, this is not an indictment on the coaching staff. We only pass when we have to due to our QBs being inconsistent. They will have to play better against OM and Bama to give us a chance to win (i.e., 60% completion on about 18 attempts, IMO).

BTW, you can't just look at passing attempts and say our passing game sucks. Of course, it needs to be better, but our passing offense has the potential to be effective as evidenced by our yards per attempt, which is really good. Even with as few attempts as we have, defenses are worried about Dural and Dupre getting behind them.
