Not only that, but you can kiss smaller networks/channels goodbye. I know people say "I only need ____ and ____" but people still do watch other things. And they damn sure would realize what they missed when the smaller channels are gone.
Channels like ESPN support the smaller channels and keep them around. As much as a la carte cable intrigues me, I feel like the overall product (call it "TV watching" or whatever) wouldn't be as good.
The caveat to that is if the smaller people focused their content towards the internet, which would still allow you to watch their programming, even if it's on a smaller scale.
