Croatia jumped at the chance to be their own nation but the root of the issue was and will always be Serbia.

The whole situation started with unrest in Kosovo and then it trickled down from Slovenia, to Croatia, to Bosnia. Why? Because everyone was tired of Serbian rule. Every where you looked a Serb was positioned at the top. In the police departments, government offices, factories, etc. Hell, even all of Yugoslavia's weaponry was stockplied in the Serb capital. Which was a big reason for their early success in the war. Not to mention Serbia was the main culprit with funding and supporting Croatian and Bosnian Serbs to carry out their agenda of a Great Serbia. Too bad they didn't realize and eradicate the Albanian and Muslim disease that was brewing within their own country. Now it is shrinking to a teacup Serbia.
