Ties have been acceptable to Americans ever since the greatest generation handed over the keys to the country.
Ties in football were much more common in the 30s and 40s than they are now.

DEFCON 5 is the lowest state of readiness. I think you meant TROLL DEFCON 5 4 3 2 [1]

Like the college OT? Hell, no. Ties were perfectly fine for over a hundred years of college football, and over 50 years of pro football.

I don't have a problem with ties. Seasons last longer than one week. There's only one winner at the end of the season. That's the only thing that matters.

Allowing sexual assault cases go under the rug because of a high profile athlete is also not American...

I actually like ties in the regular season. The whole purpose of the regular season is to determine who makes the playoffs and seeding. Each game is kind of like 1/16 of the whole game. It's really not imperative that each game have a winner. Ties actually serve, as much of an oxymoron as it sounds, as a tiebreaker in the NFL, given teams often finish in that 9-7/10-6 range, and there's no one-game playoff like in baseball.

I'll say it.
Field goal shootout!
And each round has to have a new player.

I don't like this line of scrimmage thing either. Seems like there'd be a lot more scoring if they just let players stand wherever they wanted before the ball is snapped.

Sudden death after each team has a possession.

Is the NFL just too prideful to switch to college's infinitely better OT system. I'd modify it to the 20 yard line and no pat's after the first OT. That or just do sudden death. Home team gets the ball first.
