As long as you don't mind having a bare-dirt yard you'll be satisfied.

What are the reviews like?

Most of them are pretty much disposable after a year or so. If you're just looking for something for a kid to goof off on that won't get abused too hard then you should be good for a year or two of usage. They don't really hold any value so if it happens to still function when the kid get's tired of it you won't be able to sell it for much, if at all.
ETA: There's a place not far from my office that I saw listing them on craigslist. Looks like the same shite in your link for $600 new.

How old is your kid and does it have a remote button/lanyard for training to stop it?

My son has had his for about 1.5 years. Rides it at the deer lease a; lots of mud, sand and grime. The whole front end is shot, wobbles like a black girl on the dance floor. I've had to replace the battery once, but it's good now.
They don't have a lot of low end torque, but it works. I put a smaller front sprocket on my son's and that helped.
All and all, it cost me $700.00 to get him through the little ATV stage of his life, versus $3,500.00 for a Honda, Yammie, etc. I would make the same move again. Once he wears this one out he will be ready for s 250cc+, then I will invest my money in quality.

Bought my kid a 125 one like that. Was total piece of shite. Shocks sucked,Steering sucked,Carb was forever getting plugged up no matter what Seafoam/non ethanol fuel i ran in it.
Got him an EX 250 and he was stoked. I was as well since i never had to do anything to it.
But,he was 8 not 5 so

Yea, that lil guy could teach the OT a few things about life and the ladies...

Look for a used reliable brand..
That or completely take that thing apart and rebuild it torquing everything properly and putting loctite on anything that needs to stay put.
Have dealt with a lot of chinese pit bikes, they just fall apart if you don't go over every bolt with a fine tooth comb. Be prepared for the motor to give out fairly easily as well.

Santa doesn't do used but what brand would you recommend?
I see Polaris makes a 50 but that seems small and their next size is 200

I bet that little 50 runs fast enough for a 5 year old

impossible to get the rear axle straight after doing a chain tension, battery and starter issues all the time.
This is the one my son had.
this is what he ended up with.
