@DellengerAdv: Transcribing tape. Pretty clear at what's holding back the 3 #LSU RFr DTs from playing: Technique, att. to detail, knowledge of the defense
Bad recruiting? Not getting coached up? Do we blame those 3?
How does 1 5 star and 2 4 star DLine guys not contribute in 2 years. Plus they all played in those high school all American games.

i still don't get it.
let's not pretend that the DT's that are playing are using proper techniques, etc. we are getting gashed for a reason up front, proper technique or not.
i say just rotate em in, see how they perform.

Honest question, how difficult is it MENTALLY to play defensive tackle?

or some just take time to develop. I know...mind blown

Yet valentine was ready to contribute from day 1 without even being at a practice.

Don't kill me, but maybe brick haley isn't all that great of a dline coach? Dline has been weak for a while now.... Just saying

Have never been impressed with Haley's coaching techniques. Good recruiter, just don't see any good examples of his coaching on the field.

What better way to "develop" than actually playing in games? It would be one thing if these guys couldn't see the field because they would be taking snaps away from players like Lavalais, Williams, Dorsey, Mingo, Brockers, etc. It's another thing when they can't see playing time on one of the weakest LSU D-Lines in maybe 15 years.

What do you mean by "a while"?

Since what 2012?
After we lost Nevis, then brockers we just haven't had that disruption.. Am I wrong?

According to who? The same people that said all the other DTs would play as soon as they stepped on campus?

Too many early departures is forcing guys to play too early.

I don't know about Herron (someone will have to inform me of his mins), but Gilmore and Bain are getting some PT. Maybe it's not as significant as you want, but they are getting in. Gilmore made a great play to close out the 1st half against NMSU. The potential is there with him. I'm just saying be patient...they are just RS frosh.

Just sucks to see ole miss and miss st dominate on DLine while we are having 2 down years

Something ain't right......if Haley can't reach these guys we need someone who can. It's either talent isn't being evaluated properly on the d-line or they're not being taught in a manner that is having any effect. I lean to say it's the latter since its guys who were recruited by pretty much all of the big boys, and not marginal takes.
Hell the technique the guys who play is pretty bad. Hunter still can't set an edge, and gets blocked out of the play much too often.

I think you mean Brockers, then Logan in 2012. Nevis' last year was 2010. But hey I see what you mean, even though Ego and Anthony Johnson were not bad by any means.

Anyone asserting this is an idiot at best.
