After a humbling introduction to big time college FB, not counting ULM or SH, it seems Number 7 is awfully quiet. Do you think psychologically he recovers this season? Will it take a few more games under his belt to become the stud we think he can be? He has the makings of a monster but our offense has some serious deficiencies right now.

3 years from now we could have "Was Fournette a bust? " threads or "Fournette for heisman" threads. Right now he's wandering in the middle.

There's not really much to talk about. Our O-line can't block and he isn't getting enough carries.

He's looked pretty good to me.

His patience and vision is extremely poor.
In high school he was so much bigger, stronger and faster than defenders that he could outrun his blockers and make defenders look silly.
In college, he's not agile/quick enough to make quick cuts and runs past his blockers before they can reach the second level.
He has the pure talent, but you can tell he needs to be coached/learn to read defenses better which will hopefully come with time.

If our OL was opening holes as well as the 2013 unit did.. Fournette would be averaging over 6 ypc easily.

holes aren't opening because the defenses have zero respect for jennings passing ability

look, I want Brandon Harris to start too, but this is idiotic. Jennings as a true freshman getting his first start looked horrible against Iowa, and Jeremy Hill still ran for 212 yards and 2 TDs. Our first drive was literally all runs in that game.
Same thing in 2012. Mett had a 3 game stretch were he was averaging less than 49% and had 1 TD and 2 ints. After that first game (UF) we replaced RT with true freshman Alexander, and RG with redshirt freshman Turner. We also had true sophomore Collins at LG. Against USCe and TAMU, Hill ran for at least 124 yards and 2 TDs in both games averaging over 7 ypc. Mett passed for 148 and 97 yards those games respectively.
This has more to do with the OL than any damn thing else.
