you are absolutely correct. it isn't just the predictability of the play calling. When you can't punch it in from 2 yards out on 4 attempts, the OL has a problem. although the coaches should recognize this and run another play. football isn't always about physically imposing your will on the other team
I would like to see the return of the Magee at QB power lineup we ran last year or the year before.

It still blows my mind that Les Miles was an offensive line coach at big college programs (Colorado and Michigan) for 12 years.

lol. didn't someone speculate that every time we had OL issues under Stud that it was because we had switched to zone blocking?
he did try to force the zone blocking system, esp when we were trying to run some spread option with JJ
that's why we went for smaller OL until saban started winning titles with behemoths
our OL philosophy has been a shite show and inconsistent since jimbo left. always trying new things and trying to fit pieces into new systems that may not fit. recruiting OL that don't fit in the system we use by the time they're physically ready for CFB

So Grimes is the problem?? Can we fire him or are we stuck with him?

he's still using the systems that worked at those schools 20 years ago

So do you think when coaches question Les, he just screams, "YOU DON'T KNOW BO," and walks away whispering incoherently?

WFT happened to our OLine?
We constantly line up in I formation, 1 WR, and two tight ends. Therefore, we constantly have 9 and sometimes even 10 in the damn box, and people wanna know why our OL can't block.

We faced stacked boxes in 2012 too and we ran much better than this.

The center and guards aren't getting their arse kicked by DTs just because a safety is a few yards closer to the ball than he normally is.

Only Les would think its a good idea to try to change your OL scheme at the same time that you are breaking in a couple of new QBs and a batch of new WRs. Add to that rebuilding the DL and its amazing that he would even consider tinkering with the blocking schemes.
Sometimes I really wonder about Les. Reasoning and logic don't seem to play a big role in his decisions.

Calling a timeout with 3 seconds left in the first half to run a screen pass was really really bizarre. It's like he's just coaching at random sometimes with no real plan, that or he is actually starting to second guess himself.

I was seeing a lot of missed blocks. On one screen, 74 never even looked at the corner back while he ran right behind him to tackle the back. Had he just turned to the left and shielded him the play would have been a huge gain. Instead they failed to get a first down. They just seemed to have their heads In their asses for a lot of the game.

porter looked awful the few times I watched him. hell the msu rushers that were killing aj were coming from the middle a lot of times.

yes, many of our plays are anticipated but it is much worse than that. we are getting stuffed at the line in goal line situations that we scored easily on last year. and a 3 man rush got us last night.
our blocking is terrible and it's not just our play calling. and it's not just our OL. we ran what should have been a successful screen last night (finally) with 3 tigers out front and bam. an msu guy dodged all 3 "blockers" and smashed the play. he went unblocked!
it's like our guys don't know who to block and just take half arse stabs at somebody.

I've always been a supporter of CLM, but the whiskey and MSU "slow starts", to me, mean the team was not properly prepared or motivated to play. They have no fire. MSU outhit LSU all game. LSU should never be outhit by anyone. LSU is supposed to be the aggressors. MSU is supposed to feel the LSU hangover Tubby talked about. I hate seeing the Tigers get bullied like that. It hurts my heart.
