"Down in a hole" is my favorite from that set.

How anyone can say Pearl Jam unplugged is not in the top 3 is beyond me. Some people like to live and die by the mythical Vedder vs Cobain thing and side with Cobain and in doing so toss aside what amazing performances early Pearl Jam put together. Ed put on one of his best performances ever during the unplugged show.
As far as Unplugged goes:
AIC
PJ
Nirvana
...and for what it's worth I am not an AIC fan but the unplugged was perfect. At the end of the day all 3 were incredible.

I love PJ, but their Unplugged set just wasn't that good outside of 2 or 3 songs. The Porch from that set is one of the best single songs on the series, but the overall show was pretty meh.

Porch, Jeremy, and Black were all amazing. What Mike and Stone were able to do with acoustics for Alive was also very impressive.

Well, if you understand the Nirvana performance; what went into it, the set that included few hits, and the fact that it was recorded in one single take, you cannot deny it's pure genius.
Nirvana took huge risks in a medium where most play it pretty safe. AIC - or anyone else, for that matter - didn't choose unknowns to cover, and they certainly didn't make those unknowns popular. Cobain had the set decorated like a funeral, and then he put on the show of his life, mostly all on his terms.
Had MTV gotten their way, the Nirvana show would have been just like the others -- full of hits that sound forced acoustically. You would not have had the three obscure Meat Puppets songs and you wouldn't have had them close with Where Did You Sleep Last Night, which is the single best unplugged track in history.

I personally think Something In The Way is the best. Followed by PJ -Black , then AIC- Over Now.

I love AIC studio stuff, but the unplugged never stuck with me very well. I like it, just not that much

Well, I never argued against any of that. I mean, how could I when you put it so eloquently with the "end thread", "it isn't even close" post you put out there.
Nirvana isn't a wrong answer, neither is Alice in Chains. I couldn't care less if Cobain stuck it to MTV with his set list, nor that they decorated their stage as a funeral of all things. It's not like AiCs Unplugged album didn't have plenty surrounding its production and the whole thing from start-to-finish demonstrates how brilliant their catalog is...it certainly wasn't "forced acoustically". If there ever was a band who could seamlessly transition to an acoustic show, it was AiC.

Great song, it isn't hands-down better than Got Me Wrong. Layla is on the short-list too.

While great, I've always gone back and forth on it and Jesus Don't Want Me For a Sunbeam as the best song from Nirvana's set. But really there's not a weak song on that entire album. And I agree their set is what MTV had in mind when they started the Unplugged series.

Dude, your use of hyperbole is the worst thing I've read on this board.

aic? nirvana? it's so subjective, but i think we can all agree that man in a box who sold the world is the greatest unplugged song ever, hands down, in our opinions, and it's not even close.

Did Creed ever do an unplugged? If so, theirs was the best.
