Agreed that is a great dish. I like their small plates more than the entrees

No requests of pics of the OP's wife? I'm proud of the group on this board.

I agree with either Herbsaint or Bayona.

Not to hijack, but Carrollton Market or Bistro Daisy for a birthday dinner? Anyone been to either recently?

I loved R'evolution. One of my favorite meals of the year.

Sorry, tried to respond earlier.

I like both CM and BD, though wouldn't recommend either for a birthday.
I like CM for a nice weekday meal, but I wouldn't like it for a birthday.

BD has some really good food, but the menu is a little dated and the clientele is 100% blue hairs.

Both worth a try though!

Damn haha. I've been to pretty much every other place uptown so I'm drawing a blank. Coquette is probably my favorite restaurant in the city, so something along those lines. Doesn't have to be uptown but I'd rather not venture to the FQ. Any suggestions?

There are probably a 1000 Uptown threads. FYI

Lilette is similar and near Coquette.
Le Petit Grocery
Gautreau's
SQ Root is the new kid on the block.
Brigtens

No shortage of neighborhood style places in town.

Yeah I don't think Bistro Daisy screams "birthday celebration." Really solid menu and they put out damn good food, but it's pretty stodgy in there.

La Petite or Coquette are better more upbeat restaurant uptown.

Been to all but sq root. Wasn't really impressed with root so I'm not in a rush to go there.

May try CM. The menu doesn't scream weekday meal to me

You won't be disappointed. I think my opinion is based on my 1 trip for happy hour which was average. My trip for dinner was good-very good.

Only thing I would mention about CM is it's not the biggest place in the world if you're thinking about a bigger party(6+).

Went to Bistro Daisy about a month ago.
While it didn't blow me away as I hoped, it was a very enjoyable meal and I would go again. However they do have very limited menu.

I tried to make late reservations at Upperline, but could not even get them to answer the phone to try to get reservations.
