I encourage people to fish our lease just away from where we are hunting. Often time the difference between a limit or not is a crabber or fisherman or two kicking the birds up for you.

Oh most definitely
After the first flight we wait till 8:30 or so when the oyster boats come making their way through

Elaborate then, oh wise one
I've been yak fishing during duck season for almost ten years now. I'm on the water before sun up and have no problem with them nor do they with me. It's not a big deal at all.

You can definitely do it and be smart about it. Just have to remember that the hunter has paid for access to the property while you have not.

Yep, I stay on public water.

Meh kinda, you could easily throw them off by your first comments though. I'm just letting people know who aren't sure if it's a good idea or not that they should have no worries.

I agree on fishing public water. I do not know what is the practice in SE La. In SW La most fisherman(I am one also) stay out of duck ponds. Most do not fish canals until afternoon to avoid conflict. Simple courtesy and common sense. We wish them the best starting the day after duck season.

Your candy arse should be blasting birds

According to SONRIS, 99.9% of all marsh is privately owned.
Posted on 9/10/14 at 2:36 pm to VanRIch
That's because it is owned. Do you think it just sits there unclaimed?
Posted on 9/10/14 at 2:41 pm to mylsuhat
Good grief dude, forget it. I'm not getting into this debate again.

FYI, The kayak tournament Golden Meadow Smack Down is also opening day of teal season.
I will be there... dont shoot me.
