After watching last nights game he is definitely a product of tremendous talent around him. Most of his big plays last night was the defense's overreaction to play action due to being afraid of Lynch and also having Harvin on the field. Add to that consistent short fields due to the defense and you have the key to a quarterback's success. Put him on an average team and he would be a very average quarterback.

It will be real interesting to see what happens when Wilson can go on the open market
He'll never hit the open market.
He's a top 5-6 QB. Reminds me of Steve Young.
As far as people comparing him to Brees. Physically Wilson is on another level. His wheels are much much better, and he has a top 5 NFL arm.

I think lots of people on here don't understand that those plays require timing, knowledge of the defense, patience, etc. It's not like it's an easy offense to install.

He's good but I wouldn't be surprised if Seattle doesn't give him 20 mil
They will. He is a hero up there.

Any starting QB in the league should be able to do these things. Please don't compare him to Young. That is a huge joke. Young had a record for consecutive 300 yard games for years. I don't think Wilson has ever had one that I can recall without looking it up

Wilson has three 300 yard regular season games in his career

1. I didn't compare him to Young.
2. I don't think the comparison is that far off.
3. Russell Wilson has passed for over 3,000 yards in both seasons, completing at a very good percentage and a fantastic QB rating, just like Steve Young.

Yet very few QB's can do it effectively, if at all.

I don't see what's so funny about that statement.

Oh wow! Your right! Phew I sure am glad he's getting right over one 300 yard game per season.

Yeah, pretending to give the ball to somebody is really complicated.
And by the way, 3,000 yards is a lot of yards, if it was 1975.

He's one of my favorite athletes.

Don't get pissed at me because you wanna suck RW off. He is a system quarterback surrounded by great talent and one of the best defenses in NFL history on the other side. You sir, sound like a loser with a man crush.

You said selling the play action is not hard, that IS stupid and that's the only thing I commented on; I don't know where the rest of your post is coming from
You sound even dumber here
NO ONE has disputed this.
Is this expression overused or what

Hey, you like to throw names around so I wanted to talk your language. Like I said earlier before you picked segments of my paragraph to comment on, if he was on an average team he would be an average QB. If he would have went to Indianapolis instead of Luck they still wouldn't have made it to the playoffs. He is on a team that wouldn't lose much steam if he went down with an injury. Would they be AS good? Probably not, but they still would be in the playoffs.

Talent around him? He won a Super Bowl with Lynch and a bunch of crap WR and TE! But he did have a great defense.
It was nice to see him with Harvin in the lineup. He's a top 10 QB.
Tom Brady won a bunch of Superbowls with subpar offensive talent and great defenses also....JS

Saints fans are so salty when it comes to the Seahawks

Anyways...
My opinion of him is he's an accurate passer, great game manager, and good situation scrambler. A negative is he's pretty short for a QB = swatted balls at the LOS, and I kind of want to see if Wilson can throw throw throw to win a game if all his RBs are a no go.

quote:In the context of the Seahawks' system, to criticize Wilson for his lack of guady yardage numbers is missing the point. It's a run-first ball-control offense that when clicking on all cylinders is amongst the most efficient in all of football. Just because his team is so talented, balanced, and doesn't trail often doesn't mean he's not capable of putting up 300+ yard games if he was required to throw the ball 40+ times as opposed to 25+.
Oh wow! Your right! Phew I sure am glad he's getting right over one 300 yard game per season.
