Not a new topic to this board or unique to LSU but today's WSJ shows how students are a major reason for empty seats in many stadiums

It's across the CFB landscape. Sell beer, have good wi-fi and don't charge insane prices to park.

And let them yell STTDB as much as they want

Who would you put on the schedule? Give me some teams.

I blame the increasing cost of tuition. They are pricing out the drunken college student.

Don't you know that marquee programs are beating down the doors to travel down to BR and play a night game in Death Valley? All we have to do is ask. Thanks for nothing, Alleva.

Isnt it interesting that as the number of women, international, and minorities increase with each new entering LSU class...student attendance at the games falls?
HOW
ODD.

Take the biggest out of conf game every year and move it off of campus and of course your student attendance will drop. Doesn't take a scientist.

Exactly. It's too corporate these days. Nowhere near as much fun as college football back in the 90's.

It's the hipster generation. Games aren't ironic enough to attend

A home and home with Wisconsin would've been awesome but the TV money will always be a factor.

Many students would rather stay at the tailgate and drink and party than actually attend the game. 20-30 years ago (for the most part) if you wanted to see the game, you had to go in. Now with every game on TV, it's not necessary.

The price increases have taken a hell of a toll on the middle class fans. Students need to be placed in a section of the stadium where they can do their thing, and yes, the stadium needs to be Wi-Fi friendly - not just for the students, but others as well.
As for the prices, I understand that it takes a lot of money to field a successful program, and those prices are not likely to go down anytime soon. That said, as bad as I would like to be in TS, I am not paying outrageous prices for cupcake games that have absolutely no value or any type.
I bought a 60" screen this last Christmas, and am content to take in most games in the comfort of my air conditioned den, with free parking, reasonably priced food, and the ability to watch another game after ours is over.
I am sure I will come to TS for at least a game a season, but I can buy on the secondary market or outside the stadium.
With those factors in mind, I made the decision to let my season tickets go this past renewal and let someone else do the financial ponying up. I could have kept renewing, but really could not justify it.
I have followed LSU since the late 60's, attended school there, and will always be a Tiger fan. However, everyone has their threshold and as far as I am concerned the school priced themselves out of my personal market. It's no big loss as there are others in line to snatch the seats up.
However, going back to the students, those students are future Tiger fans. If something is not done to further cultivate their interest now, there will be fewer fans (and asses in seats) after some of us are dead and gone.
