Clubs with €100m Rosters
(I think these numbers are just gross amount paid in transfer fees for all the players carried on the roster. Someone posted it on an Italian board.)
Real Madrid (SPA) = €536m
Man City (ENG) = €435m
Manchester United (ENG) = €395m
Chelsea (ENG) = €376m
PSG (FRA) = €366m
Tottenham (ENG) = €250m
Barcelona (SPA) = €237m
Bayern (GER) = €233m
Arsenal (ENG) = €215m
Juventus (ITA) = €214m
Liverpool (ENG) = €213m
Monaco (FRA) = €204m
Inter (ITA) = €184m
Napoli (ITA) = €174m
Wolfsburg (GER) = €117m
AS Roma (ITA) = €108m
Dortmund (GER) = €100m
Some notable others:
Parma (ITA) = €9m
Real Sociedad (SPA) = €10m
Athletic Bilbao (SPA) = €33m
Atletico Madrid (SPA) = €81m
AC Milan (ITA) = €91m
Fiorentina (ITA) = €93m
Lazio (ITA) = €90m
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Of course this is just transfer fees paid out so it's not a bottom line but still there's some kind of interesting things that pop out:
Just the difference between Real Madrid's transfer expenditure and second place Man City's is close to the entire amount paid out by Dortmund or Roma.
Wolfsburg isn't get much bang for their buck, at least so far.
Spain has only 2 clubs over €100m while EPL has 6 and Serie A has 4 but probably still has the deepest batch of very good teams.
Someone may want to hire Parma and Real Sociedad's Sporting Directors.

sociedad's number is impossible. they paid more than that to buy out our buyback clause for Vela this summer, and they paid a fee up front.

I would guess the initial fee of around €3m may be all that's included here for some reason. I also don't think these totals reflect any performance bonuses that are yet to be paid, just from looking at Roma's amount.

Tottenham seems to have had a horrible time spending that much. At least if this is based off of last years results.
Pochettino has resurrected many of last year's signings. The only signing worth a damn was Christian Eriksen.
Erik Lamela looks like a whole new player this year. Etienne Capoue is also an integral part of the starting 11. Nacer Chadli had a brace against QPR. And Roberto Soldado has shown flashes of something. I think that after this year, last summer won't be known as such a flop.
Chiriches and Paulinho are looking like flops, but if we can get to only 2 out of 7, that would be fantastic. Soldado would be 3 out of 7. I think the other 4 will be worth the money though.

You should probably wait a few more hours before throwing stones...

I know you are just giving me a hard time, but our net spending has been zero. The Bale transfer paid for last summer.
And I'm loving how this team is coming together. All of last summer's signings look like new signings with a competent manager. Spurs are headed towards being a successful club that isn't referred to as the Gareth Bales.

Bayern brought in Rode, Lewandowski, Bernat, Reina, Benatia and are still 10mm in the green this summer.

Our number will drop significantly if we can sucker someone into buying Torres.

I'm assuming this is including this season's numbers. And no one claimed that this season.
Sooo in summary. Quit being retarded.

The ROI on the English spending hardly seems worth it.

And to think that midfield only accounted for 10.5 of that... I was surprised to see them so high..

Generally it's not when comparing team quality but they are kind of forced into overpaying for most of their transfers.
First, it's driven up a bit by the absurd prices they pay back and forth for English players that often wouldn't sell for 1/2 the amount, if that much, on the open market.
Furthermore, they kind of have to pay much higher transfers and salaries to attract many good players from all over Europe and South America. A significant amount of these players would prefer to play in other top leagues if the money difference wasn't so vast.
