Grand Isle in November

Bad idea? Thinking about making a Bachelor party weekend out of it with bowfishing one night and trying to think of whatever else for the other night. Fishing any good that time of year down there? I am guessing no crabs will be around, what about any flounder?
Where should I look for maybe a camp to rent?

I am also interested in this topic.
I want to go camping and surf fishing at Grand Isle State Park. But I'm not wanting to go until October or November when the weather is cooler. Beach camping in August doesn't do it for me.
Anyone have any experience fishing from the surf, banks, or piers of GI in the fall?

Bowfishing would be iffy, depending on if any fronts have come through lately. There are plenty of reds around that time of year.
ETA: Just make sure the marsh you go in is public and not private.

The island rolls up the streets By Nov. Only the locals go down.

Streets generally roll up once football starts, Fish, but the fall is our favorite time of year. Bull reds still in passes and marsh is full of smaller reds. Even if fishing not so great, it is an awesome time of year for cooking and watching football.

Well I'm not to worried about no one being down there, we will kinda keep to ourselves. Just planned on drinking, watching football, and throwing a few lines out. I always thought November was a decent time for bowfishing, oh well we were planning on getting a charter anyway so hopefully they could put us on some fish

That is my favorite time to go. If it's a group of friends, so what if the weather is bad and you can't fish. Drink a few and have a good time.

While there is no beach to access, if I were going to hang out and drink and it was BEFORE duck season I would be in Venice. IMO there is no greater month to be in Venice than November.

It is a good time to bowfish if the weather is right. Grand Isle is always good for drinking beer though

Fishing is unbeatable in November in Venice, River is green Redfish, Trout and Bass all jumping in the boat at that time. THen there is offshore, Tuna are CLOSE, Wahoo too. Weather is nice, just as much as you want to do down there. I typically take the month of November off or damn close to it and just live down there.

Agree w/ the guy who said Venice is great in November. If you prefer Grand Isle, you may just want to do your fishing a little closer inland somewhere like Leeville or Golden Meadow. We had a great trip this summer w/ Thad Robicheaux who runs a guide service out of Golden Meadow but fishes everywhere in the area.
