How did they "back in"????
1 win in the last 3 games would have clinched the AFC West. They proceeded to go 0-3, and needed San Diego to beat Oakland in week 17. By virtue of winning the AFC West at 8-8 and hosted the 12-4 Steelers in the Wild Card round.
The game being in Denver forced Pro Bowl Safety Ryan Clark to miss the game.

Ok? Let's go back to the point that Dilfer's Super Bowl, and Sanchez's back-to-back AFC Championship appearances are constantly overlooked because they weren't any good, while Tebow backing into a home playoff game is reason people believe he "just needs another chance with a team that believes in him."
Both those guys as well as countless others that mired in mediocrity start year after year. Tebow had exactly ONE season where he was starter, just one. You're saying it's impossible that just maybe he could have gotten better over a couple years?
quote:
I would have taken Romo on that team in heart beat.
Romo is a choke artist, I have no reason to believe otherwise. I hope he remains the Dallas starter for years for that very reason.

You can lose the condescending tone and still make your point.
His numbers were terrible. When you're numbers are that terrible, the team is winning despite you, not because of you.
33rd in completion percentage
27th in QB rating
Denver was 31st in passing yards
I just get fed up with the hate for this guy for what? Because he's a Christian and was one of the GOAT college players?
Right or wrong, QBs get a great deal of credit. That team is the lowest rank passing team in recent memory to make the playoffs as well. Like it or not, Tebow was a big part of that with his end game heroics.

This is so tired. He sucked , that's all there is to it. Deal with it

quote:I don't remember anyone bringing up his Christianity or college football career. Those factors have literally nothing to do with my analysis. You assume people hate him because of his faith and his college success. That's on you.

If I were a GM, I would be extremely nervous putting my team's long-term success on a guy that struggles that much in the passing game.
Which starting QBs would you rather replace with Tebow?
quote:It's not like he was new to the QB position. He had terrible mechanics in college and he had terrible mechanics in the pros. The difference is, the pros are much less forgiving. I mean, just watch him throw. It's terrible. Frankly, it's shocking no one corrected that earlier in his life.
You're saying it's impossible that just maybe he could have gotten better over a couple years?

He won a playoff game.. No excuses or nothing.. FACT. I could care less if Clark could play or not. IF Tebow sucked that bad. A 12-4 Steelers team should have been able to go and beat a SHITTY QB led 8-8 Denver team..

Serious question, would you bet your long-term success on Tebow if you were a GM?

Of course not. Not as a QB. But the dude breathes winning and would bring that type attitude to an NFL team. Face it... If other players in the league had the dedication and work ethic Tebow has, it would be a better league.

You are right, he is the goat. Every owner, gm and coach passed on him because he is a Christian.

Work ethic and determination, like refusing to play in wildcat packages with the Jets?

Of course not. Not as a QB.

Just the fact he is/was NOT as bad as these punks think he was. They hate the dude. That's fine. Was he a good NFL QB??? Overall no. But what he did in that one season is what he did and there are plenty of NFL qbs that would have loved to be in that position.

Don't have too. You are wrong here and can't deal with it..........
