This isn't a constitutional issue. This isn't a religious rights issue. If she was reading her Bible during some silent reading time and someone told her she could not, THAT kind of thing would be. If the rule was put in place to keep talking to a minimum, simply hiding under the fact that the words spoken were religious in nature is not a cover.

Besides...which is it? Others here have said it's not a religious thing...and yet some want to argue it's her constitutional right. To what? Overt politeness?
