if he was high, definitely impaired his judgement. But if you smoke pot, you know what it does is.... a) make you scared b) makes you less likely to argue c) slows your reaction time. If you are saying MB being high impacted the encounter, it very well may of. but would probably put him in the he didn't deserve getting shot column.
It wouldn't probably indicate anything in relation to the justification of him being shot. Impairment from drugs affects people differently. His innate temperment would be more impactful IMO, though I will grant you that marijuana is less likely a drug to induce impulsive aggression as alcohol and some others. I don't personally put much stock into it one way or the other but it can certainly be considered a contributor to poor judgment at the least.

The main problem with drug tests is MJ has by far the longest detection time of any illicit drug due to the preference for oil (fat) instead of water. Depending on the threshhold you set, or whether you're testing blood or urine, or THC, or THC-COOH (metabolites), for someone of Brown's size all that might mean is they toked sometime in the last few weeks.

You're projecting.

If the marijuana was in his system from recent use, isn't it quite possible that it would affect his reaction to bullets taken in the arm?

Yes it does... and if that was the case here, Brown would have run without the smokes from the store and would have run without the confrontation with the cop. IOW it makes you the exact opposite of confrontational.

You mean like the police report?
Most Americans do not smoke pot, so don't expect a lot of people siding with your position...
I didn't say he wasn't acting crazily. I'm saying the mj in his system had nothing to do with it and those pointing to it are full of shite.

Yup.
I stated this yesterday.
Had Brown smoked that blunt before he met the cop, chances are he would be alive.

The discharge of Wilson's gun during the struggle was probably already intimidating. Brown charging forward for more was probably pretty intimidating.
He tried to intimidate the cop, not thinking the cop would shoot and he shot... and shot and shot and shot and shot and shot.
He didn't think the cop would shoot so Brown charged forward... and he shot... and Brown still charged forward... and he shot... and Brown still charged forward... and he shot... and Brown still charged forward... and he shot... and Brown still charged forward... and he shot... and Brown still charged forward... and he shot... and Brown fell three feet from him.

If you've never seen a person show up in your ER with no psych history but is paranoid and hypervigilant and positive only for MJ, then your education is lacking.

There are exceptions to every rule. Sorry but the generalization that marijuana makes you aggressive just isn't true.

I hate to sound insensitive, but I will... Frankly, I don't care much that Michael Brown is dead because I didn't know him and I'm convinced that the policeman acted in self-defense. My biggest fear in all this is that marijuana use will be smeared.

I don't think there was a generalization, rather it was posited as an explanation for what may have happened in this case.

Well I agree with the first charges but the last two are suspect. I think the shot to his eye and top of his head was when he was either falling to the ground or on his knees with his head down. There's no way him at 6'3 the bullet could enter his eye and exit then enter his shoulder and then enter the top of his head unless he was falling or if he's a defensive tackle in a four point stance.
That said, even though I don't think Brown was a force after the 4th bullet hit him, when someone is charging you, and you're shooting quickly, you really don't have time to think.. "hmm... is he still a threat?"

I doubt seriously that person had a clean bill of mental health and the MJ caused those problems alone.

Yes unless you are a dumb azz. I grew up smoking pot as did many od my friends, I did all manner of other drugs after pot was no longer a thrill, I quit all drugs at 23,about 40 if my friends I smoked pot with as a 12 yeae old kid has died from over doeses in drugs. Anyone thar smokes pot or does any drug is a dumb azz who refuses to face life in a realistic way, and a loser.
Is English your first language? Seriously.

Well you can hypothesize whatever you want, but weed turning this guy into a hyper-aggressive maniac just doesn't make much sense. Maybe anecdotally, but not physiologically.

This sounds like PTSD not WEED.
He could have smoked over three weeks before that trip to the ER and would still test positive.

and shot and shot.
i read from a couple of sources that there were 4 pops and then 4 more pops. if there was one in the car, that's 9 pops!
mb was just hit 6 times (and maybe by only 4 or 5 bullets - one or two pass thrus.)
