Anyone in Baton Rouge should try Mattress Mart on Florida. They make their own mattresses and will actually fix it if you don't like it.

We just switched to a tempurpedic from a Simmoms Beautyrest. It took some getting used to, but now when we stay in hotels I can't sleep well b/c of how much I like my tempurpedic. Not sure of the model, bit is one of the new ones with the gel layer on top. Think it was right around 6k. It was expensive but worth it.

bought a memory foam mattress (king size) off of amazon a couple of years ago that someone on this site had recommended. It was really cheap considering it was memory foam...a bit firm, but I sleep like a rock on it most nights. I think it was sleep innovations. I'd get another one considering the price point and the fact that it was delivered free to my door rolled up in some box and all I had to do was let it sit out unrolled for a night.

Tempur Pedics last forever though. You won't need a new bed in 5 years

Definitely get a Simmons Beautyrest. If you have $1500 you can get a Contender which is a their World Class line. Just remember that you can haggle on the prices of mattresses just like cars so try to get as much of a discount/free stuff as you can.
Now if you're willing to spend a little more get a Tempurpedic. There's no better mattress out there and they last twice as long as a spring mattress.

Tempurpedic
You spend a third of your life in the rack. Do you drive a POS?

Get it online. I saved about 50% on my Serta iSeries. I think Sealy, Temperpedic(sp?), and Serta are all decent. My iSeries is great.

If you're in Dallas, look up Dallas Discount Mattress. It looks sketchy because the guy literally sells out of a storage unit, but I've got friends that swear by it.
I purchased a tuft and needle mattress a few weeks ago. It's a memory foam mattress, and while it's definitely on the firm side, I've slept like a rock since getting it. Super cheap too. They also have great customer service, and if you don't like it you can send it back for a full refund no questions asked.
I was also looking at Casper mattresses. More expensive the the tuft and needle, but it's also gotten good reviews.

Paid $ 850 about 6 years ago.
Bought another about 16 years ago I handed down to my son and paid $ 650 at that time.
ask to see the old man who makes them in the back building.
Figure your own way to deliver, their service and delivery leave alot to be desired, and it looks like a shady operation, but trust me when I say they make a good mattress that last.
Look up past threads on this subject.

My king-sized Saatva came in Friday. I've slept amazingly well on it the last 3 nights. Saw someone else recommend it on here and figured I'd give it a go. Very satisfied with the luxury firm model so far.

We bought a Simmons Beautyrest. Within a year, we were sleeping in our own divot, and a big levee rose up between us. We turned it like you are supposed to.....did not help. I don't recommend Simmons Beautyrest.
Same f'ing thing with us, and we're not fat. I'm 170, wife is 115.
We spent almost $2500 on that POS. Never again..

Went to Mattress Direct, spent 1500$ on a queen Icomfort savant everfeel. Got free delivery and disposal of my old mattress and they threw in a few other freebies along with a 25 year warranty.

Is that the place that recycles old matresses near Flannery Road?

We bought one of these, much less expensive, got really good reviews. The owner personally responded to my emails. Also I beleive they donate returned mattresses to charities. Anyhow hope this helps. LINK

Bought a full for my daughter last week at Mattress Firm. I was impressed with the pricing. They have a Walmart type model for marketing. Ribbons on the Mattresses for soft. medium and firm. Salesmen didn't bother us at all.
Pretty much.. "Go find the one you want" Saw many Kings around 1K that looked nice.
