Bait and switch or mistake?

Ive started quite a few threads lately about buying a new used truck. I found one last night that was a great deal. Actually, too good of a deal. I emailed the sales guy and he confirmed that the advertised price was correct. I checked the listing this morning and the price was raised significantly.
I emailed the sales guy and asked him what the deal was and why the price was raised. I informed him that I had a screen shot of the original advertised price and also an email from him confirming the price.
I have no heard back from him yet but what should I expect? Do I have any weight in making them honor their original price?

If they're serious about selling the truck, they'll honor the previous price..

If this was the case you could pull out a clipping from 20 years ago of a McD's Value Meal and get it for .99 cents.
I imagine you could use it for negotiation purposes, nothing more or less.

Doubtful because in a lot of the fine print of those prices for vehicles it states "Price only guaranteed through the end of business today"

i bought a used ford explorer about 6 years ago and my experience was similar
found it online at hollingsworth and it was listed for 10,700 which was a really good deal for what I was looking for
i went to the dealership and looked at it, and someone came out and talked to me....i asked her the price and was told 13,xxx
we went inside and I eventually brought up the internet price and we were able to pull it up on the computer to confirm
she went to the manager..blah blah blah...came back and said the price was a mistake and they could not sell it for that
I of course told them I was leaving, and I was stopped and they offered to match the internet price (even though it was a mistake, yeah right)
i reluctantly paid the full internet price because it was really a good deal and I felt that it could have possibly been a mistake
my wife went later that day to sign something that we missed on the paperwork, and the sales manager who was working that shift told her in a not so nice way..."if i would have been here earlier, that car would not have left the lot for that price...y'all are stealing from us"

I'd bet my bottom dollar that they can't afford to honor the deal. But, if they do, I'm selling it outright immediately and then buying what I want.

same here. i recently purchased a car for the price listed online. it was a great price for the car, and the dealer knew it. wouldn't come off at all. i may have been able to get them to come down if i played waiting game, but it was the car i wanted and the price was right.

OK, what are you buying? It is very rare to be able to buy a car from a dealer and flip it.

Man you give up easy. I'd at least try to hold them to the original price (unless it was some obvious typo like a misplaced decimal point).

I think you're dreaming if you think you're going to flip a vehicle from a dealer.
The price had to have been a mistake if there's even a remote possibility of it. Dealers don't operate that way.
I just don't want to see you lose money on what you think is a sure fire quick buck. Just go buy what you actually want the first time.

Worst case scenario, I buy this F350 dually instead of a SRW. It's not a huge deal.

They really don't have to honor much of anything. Isn't sales great??
I don't think you can "make" them honor the original price, but that's the only price I'd buy that at from that dealer. If they won't honor it, then go buy it somewhere else. I refuse to give business to people who act that way. Yes, I'll pay something closer to the "real" price somewhere else, but if I'm not getting it for the advertised price there, who cares.

Not sure if you really do or if this was a bluff but you DO have a screenshot saved in your cache file. I'm no internet genius, but I'm sure someone on the tech board could tell you how to retrieve it very easily. In the meantime, don't restart the computer or run something like CC cleaner, it may wipe the history out..
