I'll say this. If St. Augustine played up to its talent potential, they would rarely ever lose a district game.

He got his sock coached off by Franklin......
Port sulphur buras had talent.....
Keen juggling kept them 1a.....
He is an awful coach.

well you can't say that and discount the titles he did win there... they haven't been able to keep a coach since

Rummel's recent run of fortune.
Rummel has always had solid football teams.
From 2000-2003 they would have had at least 1 championship had it not been for those monster Evangel teams.

Jury is still out on him at st. Aug but it doesnt look good... He'd get points if it appeared there was a method to his madness sometimes

then he goes to St. Aug with Fournette there and in two years doesn't go to the Dome, despite one of those years being in class 4A
You make it seem like he lost to scrubs. He lost to Rummel and Karr. Outside of Curtis, no one was beating that Karr team. St. Aug's talent level is very comparable to Rummel's imo.

2000-2003
Maybe 2002. Other than that, nope. No one was beating WM in 2000. That team went undefeated beating Curtis 26-7, 3 time 5A state champ Midland Lee with Cedric Benson and Eric Winston 38-6, Mississippi 5A champs Moss Point, and Mississippi 4A runner up Clarksdale. In the playoffs WM beat Warren Easton 64-0, Ouachita 43-7, Barbe 28-0, St Aug 17-0-Shows kicked out in first quarter, and Shaw 35-7. In 2001 WM beat Evangel 34-13 before losing to them 34-27 in the finals. 2002 Evangel destroyed all. 2003 Hahnville beat Evangel in the Dome.

nothing like playing powerhouses to warm up for the playoffs against the 5'7" 190 defensive lineman of St Charles catholic year after year
Last time I checked it wasn't JTs fault he was in 3A.
The part he can control (his non-district) he is playing an extremely tough schedule.
I'm not a Curtis fan. I hope he gets demolished in Div I.... But he won't.

The rules didn't allow him to only play all the way up in football until now. From what I understand he considered girls teams and other boys teams in deciding whether to play up to 4A or 5A. Additionally, the Catholic League wasn't letting Curtis in to their district. The Jefferson Parish public schools would not have allowed Curtis either. Curtis still would have had to play the Fortiers and Warren Eastons of NOLA public schools. It didn't really make a lot of difference between that and Carver and OP Walker.

Carver, Karr and Walker were much better than the Fortner, Reed, John Mac and the other 5 a public schools.

You understand it, but everyone else on this board wanted JT to throw the rest of his schools teams under the bus like Evangel did a few years ago.

What got us to where we are now was talk of JC playing 5a in football and down in others...
That's what started play in class
Being able to play up at all was shot down repeatedly until post Katrina enrollments eviscerated the catholic league and play up was needed to restore it.
What got us to the rule now allowing football only is e fear of an all out split...and what the real cause is...they would look like hypocrites now.
As for not having hold backs.....every team that won state last year had some key voluntary hold backs....

Curtis plays Lufkin, TX
That should be a hell of a game to watch. Lufkin has the athletes to play with Curtis, but I dont know if they have the discipline. When is that game and where? Wouldnt mind hitting that one up if its reasonably close.
ETA: Nevermind. Its on September 13th up at the Independence Bowl. 2 PM kick. Damn.

I think ND is better than Calvary right now.
see im the other way around. For ND to beat Calvary they would have to play a perfect game. For Calvary to beat ND they could struggle and still beat ND. Calvary has the athletes.
