If you could protect one film or franchise from a remake

What would it be?
I would like to put a cap on the Wizard of Oz. No good film has come out of that since the 1939 masterpiece and MAYBE a cult warm spot for Return to Oz.
But I'd have to go with Shawshank Redemption. Leave it alone forever.

The Bourne movies. (they should have stopped making them after the Damon films.)

I have no problems with remakes or reboots. to me it does not diminish my enjoyment of the originals in any way. if it's something I loved and the remake is enjoyable then I am thrilled to have more of it. if it sucks then oh well I still have the original.

The Oz movie with James Franco was a surprisingly good.

This movie was just about perfect. The acting was top notch, the score was top notch, the pacing and direction was top notch.
Not sure how it could be remade any better than the original. Not saying it is the best movie ever made, but I just don't see room for improvement.
Not like new technology could make it better, whereas, I could see Oz being remade, possibly better. Yes Blasphemy, but with better tech, it is possible.

Indy Jones should have left it alone
Star Wars - the reboots could ruin it forever
Harry Potter - no more

I actually think Harry Potter would be good material for a GOT style mini-seires in maybe 20 years. Remember, the Last Potter book was the first movie to decide F*ck it, we can't do this thing in just one movie. (Maybe LoTR since it had only ever been attempted as 1 or 2 films before Peter Jackson decided to go with 3).

Back to the Future i a good one.
but you know a studio is going to "update" it. In my opinion its a timeless classic.
