Alleva addresses West Side/South side of TS clash, netural site games, parking

#1 basically said he wishes he had been here when we redid the west side as he would have done it differently but it's too costly to do anything about it now.
#2 said it's tough to get good opponents to come to tiger stadium, lot easier to do neutral site games plus we make a ton of money for the neutral games. he wants to dial it back a little though and mentioned UCLA and Syracuse coming to BR.

I'm inclined to believe him. For his part, he's done a good job improving the aesthetics of Tiger Stadium.

It took me a while, but I am beginning to appreciate what Alleva is doing at LSU

Where did he say this?

They should at least repaint the west side. That shouldn't cost much. UCLA in tiger stadium

talking about parking now, he said they want to make it as easy as possible so people aren't deterred from coming to the games, said that they are working on a new plan that should be released soon for parking and contraflow

This is probably true. At first, it seemed like stripping the West Side facade and building arches and plaster board wouldn't be too hard. Unfortunately, it would never match because of the size differential.

Think andy staples had a good point today about neutral site games.
No incentives ($) for schools. Networks are already paying for home games through conference agreements and it would be seen as double dipping on the schools' part to then pay both schools again for the home and home.

Tiger Stadium hasn't really matched since expansions began. It is just a bunch of pieces put together with no flow, nothing has changed with the new addition, so why care now?

The north enclosure was really the only one that did match the original structure.
Since then, only the south expansion project has come close to continuing that look.

+1
plus.........who the frick cares? It sounds like a bunch of female interior designers in here.
99% of the Rant wanted the expansion so it could brag about being over 100,000.....not so it would look pretty.

Completely agree. If you have to pick one of the looks to go on, the original is the best you could do. I like what Alleva did on that front.

Agreed. The first expansion in the north looks great. They seamlessly added it on so it looked original. I'm not sure what happened with the south enclosure but I found this picture. I wonder if the original plan was to continue the arches around the south but they never did

That actually answers a question I had about the two endzone enclosures. I was pretty sure the NEZ came first but I wasn't positive.

Eliminating most of the $40 gameday on campus parking would be a start. They can't be making that much money with that. A lot of 75% empty lots on campus last year while most fans parked on the outskirts of campus. Except when there was a chance of rain and all the free lots closed, then it just became a total mess.

It's like that at every sec campus. As long as people are paying to have those spots, they will still be reserved.
I recommend looking into using the new parking garage.
