I'm away from home and my DVR box, I rarely watch network TV, but the commercial are fricking endless. This is worse than coitus interruptus, do people actually do this?? I bet the closer the elections get it is worse. It had to be 20 minutes per hour for commercials.
Thank God for Netflix, Amazon and DVR.

Honestly commercials stopped bothering me years ago. Obviously I, like most others watch a lot of stuff via DVR at a later time, but I just don't even mind commercials anymore.

My dad could not be more stubborn. I convinced him and my mom to get DVR and the first time he used it he got frustrated because he rewound too far and cursed it and got rid of it.
Now I get to hear him bitch all the time about how we missed something cool while he was watching.

Sounds like you take watching television way too fricking seriously.
Yep. Confirmed.

I have less issue with commercials then I do networks scheduling everything decent on Sunday nights and having to record a ton of shite to watch.

Yeah you said it! I hate commercials and never watch them. If I am watching commercial tv in real time I either change the channel when commercials come on or hit the mute button.

I don't mind commercials at all. I use that time to post updates about what I'm watching on this board.

Correct me if I am wrong, but it seems like when I used to record '24' it was 48 minutes, now shows are 40 minutes.

Me and my wife were watching Suits the other night, and when they came to a commercial, I pressed the FF button. Didn't work. I actually checked the batteries in the remote before I realized we were watching live TV.
She looked at me like I was stupid, then busted out laughing.

I put "I don't watch network TV" people slightly above "I don't even own a TV" people.

Actually this is where we are headed. I theorize that commercials are occupying more time per hour because the networks are trying to recoup what they are losing to the other options.
I know several younger generation people, my son included, who don't own a TV. They get all of their viewing from other sources. I use my 60" TV as a big computer monitor for online content.
I do like local news, but it is about 40% commercial, so I watch it when it's over.
