That's why I want to know what he offered and what they countered with. If it is less than a few hundred and he is saying there's no way that he can pay that, then he had no fricking intention of paying the amount he offered to.

If you can't come up with a few hundred dollars then you don't have your fricking priorities straight.

He could have made the original $2000 in a month if he wanted to. When my wife and I were dating, she told me that she had $6000 in credit card debt. When we got engaged, I worked overtime and weekends and paid the debt off in a couple months. This was making money in the 35k range right out of college.
