Shipping some cold goods across the country, Midwest and Detroit.
Probably some sausage/andouille and packaged crawfish. Maybe a couple of other things from La.
To those who have had success what is the best way to do this? Was hoping for a flat rate box from USPS and some dry ice, but should I be looking at an ice chest and overnight?

When I lived in NC I ordered some products from here, boudin, andouille, tasso, stuff like that. It came to me in large box containing a styrofoam ice chest packed with dry ice.
I don't know if that's standard, but I had no issues with spoilage.
I believe it came UPS.

i was kidding. pack in styrofoam ice chest with dry ice packs. just make sure its tightly sealed, the ice chest, as well as the packaging around the ice chest.

can't be worse than shipping beer eh?

Yeah, figured you were.
Just worried about the dry ice freezing some of the stuff. My experience with frozen boudin was bad.
How much time do I have to get it there? 2-3 days?

Sausage doesn't break, but it gets hot.

I remember thinking next day was steep, around $50.
I did the 2-3 day option for something like $30. It was about 3 years ago, so those prices might not reflect the present.
ETA: I did the 2-3 days and honestly, everything would have probably been good for at least another 24 hours when I received it.

2 day shipping, with dry ice should be same price I assume as what beer cost... I may be totally wrong though

Good article, might save a little $ and just check a bag next month.

I'm fairly certain you can't check dry ice on a plane.
Not sure if that was your intention when you mentioned possibly checking it but just an FYI.
