Amazon Prime Pantry - A new way to buy household items

interesting idea....though the selection isn't that great so far
for non-bulk size household items, I usually use walmart's website instead which is free shipping for 45 dollar orders, but I see amazon is trying to get into the game
I think they could also say that if your pantry box is over a certain price, it could ship for free, but 5.99 for up to 45 lbs of groceries isn't terrible

if they ever start selling frozen or refrigerated items I could see replacing almost all of my shopping
i'm still pretty big on price over convenience though, so it's tough for amazon to win me over on groceries when you consider the sales the local places have....not to mention cheaper store brands

Well, this is going to piss CAD off.

I don't get it. I use Amazon Prime Subscribe & Save for most of the items pictured and have it delivered for free and automatically.

Amazon Fresh is on it's way. Only in 3 cities right now.

One of the worlds most dangerous companies, for better or worse.

I would use that for sure.

I use it too but you can't really buy a 12 pack of cokes for 3 bucks
S/S seems to have a lot of niche items and I don't get the rhyme or reason why they choose which items are eligible

We have freshdirect in NYC, which is an online grocer. You get free delivery during the week and it costs about $5 for the weekend. They deliver the next day. I haven't done bulk grocery shopping at an actual grocery store in about three years.
There is a new company that will do same day delivery, but I haven't tried them yet.

I like to pick out my produce, meat, etc but I would use that for other stuff

Yeah, I don't ever see myself going away from selecting my own fresh products.
Anything packaged I will gladly. I already buy most of the household stuff on Amazon, along with anything else they sell. If they have it, I buy it from them.

I use a local delivery service for produce and they do a much better job in picking produce than I do. They know what is seasonally fresh and choose that. Granted we get stuff we have no idea what it is, but its kinda fun too. The only trick is they don't always have what we want, sometimes you need a sweet onion or pepper, so you still have to hit the grocery.
I don't use it for meat, as their prices are just too high.
I don't I will use Pantry until the selection expands. I can see it being great for household items like soap, TP, etc. They just don't carry the brands we like yet.

Only problem I see with TP is it will fill your box too quickly using this method
It's 5.99 to ship 4 cubic feet or 45 lbs whichever you hit first
Eta: y'all should compare your amazon monthly items to Walmart. I normally buy dog food with my Walmart orders so it gets me close to the 45 dollar minimum right off the bat

I don't see me not buying TP and PT from Sam's.

Assuming its cheaper than the store, I'd tell the wife to sign up.

Selection blows, and it'll be like the other Subscribe & Save shite where they discontinue product all the time. I'll just go to Costco.
