Just noticed I have several 'tos violations' on gdrive. This includes crap apks I've dumped on there for my various phones I've gotten from XDA, etc.
I'm a little creeped out at how Google is crawling through my personal cloud files and determining they are not appropriate.
What's next? They going to remove the new Lana Del Rey music because I uploaded it a week before the album was released.
No sir. I don't like it. I don't like it one bit.

I think that's one of the ways Apple and Microsoft stay in the game and no single company gets dominant marketshare. Google's business model is completely dependent not only on knowing as much about you as possible, but using as much of that information as possible. Apple/Microsoft/Amazon only want that information to sell you more of their products, not to package you for resale to 3rd parties.

Assuming you're speaking of a Google drive and not an actual personal cloud drive mapped to the letter "g," I don't find it even a little bit surprising. Be careful what you call "personal" when it's sitting on someone else's servers. "Your" cloud isn't yours, not by a longshot. I use these services quite infrequently and am careful about the material I upload to it for these reasons. Consider creating your own, personal FTP.

Are the files shared? I know they check those for malware and possibly copyrighted stuff, but as far as I know they don't check files that aren't shared (except for maybe forms, which may be automatically checked for phishing concerns?).

did you read the TOS (Terms of Service prior to using Google Drive? Is the file you have there a violation of those Terms of Service?

I should probably take some files off Dropbox

I think google, in general doesn't like storing apks no matter where they came from.
I once tried to email an apk with gmail, and google said no, so it's not just drive.
