I'm not posting the link to this douchebag. Matt Bai wrote it so if you want you can look it up.
Bush hasn't been in charge for the most part since the end of 06. 8 years.
Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi were ahead of the House and Senate Bush's last two years. From 2007-2010 was the worst congress years in history and this barely gets a mention. Forget Bush and Obama, look at that stretch of what Congress did in those 4 years.

It's kind of hard to comment with no quotes or links. But I guess if you disagree with him....yeah screw him.
Clearly unqualified:

But...but...Bush's fault! He ran the car into the ditch and Obama's trying to fix his mess!

I read it earlier and he actually made a very good point. He was criticizing Obama more than he was Bush. For a lot of things Obama has criticized Bush for, Obama is doing a lot of those same things.

Lemme axe ya dis, if your wife died, and you learned she had racked up a few million in undisclosed debt that you were liable to repay, would that be her fault, or yours?

Are people finally starting to wise up to this fact?

What was "undisclosed" about what Obama inherited? Last I remember, he actually ran to succeed Bush.

In that scenario would any sensible man then ratchet up the spending to add to his existing burden? What would you call such a man?

What a stupid premise. Damn these Obamites know no bounds when it comes to making excuses.
Does this douche also say Bush was pres in Clinton's world, ie, recession and looming terror threats that were ignored?

How about the world financial markets and toxic balance sheets? Wait, all of that was fully out in the open, silly me.

So you're saying Obama didn't know what he was getting into?
Wow.
Wow.

Key paragraph from the column...
quote:
And let's not forget the toxic, paralyzing political atmosphere Bush bequeathed his successor. Obama's central promise as a candidate was to unstick us from all of that (hope and change, etc.), but his presidency has been swallowed by it, instead. Now he's resorted to exactly the same type of governing by executive fiat for which Democrats assailed Bush.

I don't know about that, but it's disingenuous to act as if the Bush administration didn't have a hand in the pot.
If we are going to lay this all at Obama's feet, Bush should share in the blame.
They're the same breed, different mask.

Agreed, and that's pretty much the point of the column.

Fair assessment but in your initial scenario you appeared to want to distance the widowed husband of all responsibility. As a senator the widowed husband actually contributed to his deceased wife's spending spree and then went on one of his own.

Well, if I'm being honest, and nobody else seems to be, I'm calling a spade a spade and saying nobody in the world knew how fricked up shite was.
You people act like all these millionaires who lost great sums of money saw this all coming because of some hedge fund stories about veterans shorting the market.
Nobody had a fricking clue what was on this balance sheets.
