NEW YORK (AP) — Gay Pride parades are set to step off around the world, in cities large and small.
In the U.S., celebrations are planned Sunday from coast to coast: in New York, Chicago, Seattle, San Francisco, as well as many smaller cities. Festivals were held Saturday in France, Spain, Mexico and Peru.
New York marchers will commemorate the 45th anniversary of the Stonewall Inn riots, which are credited with launching the modern gay rights movement in 1969. Chicago's event is also in its 45th year, and San Francisco's is in its 44th.
The U.S. festivities come amid an eventful year since the U.S. Supreme Court struck down the statute that denied federal recognition to same-sex marriages and cleared the way for gay couples to wed legally in California. Since then, seven more states legalized same-sex marriage, boosting the total to 19, plus Washington, D.C.

Is there one if Daphne this year?
Might have to travel to Spanish Fort to the nearest gay bar

Glad I got to Bama before it all started. I feel pretty insulated from yucky gays here in the Bible belt.

I don't think I have seen one flamboyant individual on the Eastern Shore. Even in Mobile it is very secluded to one area.

Nah, I was just joking. I don't mind the gays or their pride parades. I wish more groups would take a little more pride in themselves and their communities.

It seems a small town around Mobile has already had theirs.

The Prancing Elites are pretty hilarious. They caused an uproar in West Mobile. They were going to make a surprise appearance at this year's Turtleneck party before it was cancelled at the last minute

About a week I'd guess.
