I'm seeing that. I guess I can understand it because I've seen my hometown ruined from what it once was. It is just arrogant to think that only a select few can have an opinion or assume that they are the only ones with experience living and working in NOLA. Well God forbid Tigerwise ever decides to cook a chicken wing...

I'm still trying to figure it out. N.O. is fcking booming. Every apartment and condo being built is full and real estate in general is very highly priced.
There are more restaurants than ever. You educated people are moving here in unreal numbers. Former sketchy streets and neighborhoods are being changed for the better by the day.
But somehow, the rednecks who post on here will just say N.O. is a shithole every chance they get.

I'd rather listen to people who have experience on the issue than listen to a bunch of opinions based off ignorance .

As far as myself, I do have experience living and working there. I get your point though. I get to hear opinions of LV from people who have never left the Strip.

I figured this article would bring out the butthurt and it didn't disappoint.

I ain't even mad. I find Denver a lot more "liveable" than NOLA. That is just my personal opinion. Many of y'all are happy as can be in NOLA and love it there, so more power to you

The Conference of Mayors made the announcement in its 82nd annual meeting in Dallas this week. The “city livability” award is intended to highlight mayoral leadership in creating programs that improve quality of life in American cities of every size.
I was wondering what "most livable" meant. It basically doesn't mean much after reading this.

I'm 32
Las Vegas actually had culture at one point. Now it is just a sea of casinos, strip malls, and beggars. Someone might say it was like that all the time and it truly wasn't. The first blow to Vegas came before my time. When the corporations came in and replaced the mafia the attitude changed. As far as my time there, Californians and Democrats moving there caused major changes. They would complain about how California was and then vote to make LV the same. I think Utah and Colorado are the fastest growing states with a respectable part of that coming from the LV area.

Lots of people are moving to NOLA right now. It will change the city no doubt, but I'm embracing the change. Things can only get better here IMO.

Agreed. I just hope Louisiana politics doesn't live up to it's reputation. I also have to agree with an earlier post that the tough truths need to be faced. Sort of admitting the problem. Finding a way to inject more education into the area can help break the cycle for some people and help NOLA in future generations.

What does "most livable" mean???
If it it means hot, humid, shitty roads, shitty public education, flying termite swarms, mosquitos, property taxes that have tripled in the last 3 years, mis-managed city government, fraud, traffic cameras, a crooked police department, street lights that don't work, and awful crime, then yes, we are one of the "most livable".
