White squirrel question

Am I the only person who hasn't seen one of these before? The wife sent me a pic of one that was outside of her work and I showed it to some friends and they pretended like it was no big deal. How rare are these furry little creatures?

I've never seen one either.

There used to be one at LSU that the hippies followed around

I've seen several blonde squirrels in my life, but never a true 'white' or albino squirrel.

Apparently, they're popular in North Carolina
There are Albino white squirrels, and "morph" white squirrels that still have brown eyes

I've seen one mounted on a buddies wall, never in real life. Flying squirrels are much more fun watch...

Thanks. I'm in S. Carolina so I can see this. I've also been reading that there are 2 other types of white squirrels. One with black eyes and one with red eyes.

Not when you get in a shooting house in the morning and not know there is a nest of them and all the sudden they start running around like crazy
Been there done that

There’s a town in S Ont that boasts about a white squirrels and every time I play a golf course there I see at least one. No tree rat season or history of hunting squirrels in ONT (my father is the exception as he has declared a jihad on all rodents at his place) but I doubt there are many white/blonde squirrels in the great state – they would standout too much and make easy pickings

I used to see one with a white tail from one of my deer stands. Never saw him when I brought a .22

I have a white one I killed as a teenager mounted. It's solid white, but not an albino. It has blue eyes. Theres a name they called it but I dont remember what it was.
