No, the same Irish who were considered a subspecies of human beings and were treated as such when they first arrived in the USA.
BTW, I'm also Slavic and that is where the word, "slave" is derived from.

The Southern slave owners wouldn't let their slaves work in the coal mines because they were too dangerous so the poor Slavic people had to work and die in them (my grandfather) instead.
