Recommend a Boat for the Northshore

I am looking for a Fish/Ski boat for the Covington/Mandeville/Madisonville area. I have a budget of 25-30k.
I want to fish and teach the boys kneeboard and Wakeboard so it needs to be a bit flexible in what I can do with it.

I pull my kids on the kneeboard behind my bay boat. In fact I've always skied behind fishing boats. Stick with a fishing boat and you'll be happy.

When you compromise, nobody wins. Buy the boat for what it will be used for 90% of the time. If you think it'll primarily be a ski boat, get a ski boat and make it work for fishing.
If you are going to be doing more fishing out of it, you can always add a ski pole to a bass or bay boat.
I don't have a specific boat to recommend, but that's my advice.

I have no idea. You're the one who said you wanted to teach your kids to kneeboard/wakeboard. I assumed you knew where you were going.
Point was just that the combo fish/ski boats don't do anything well and will make you pissed off all of the time instead of being ideal for one function and manageable for the other.

I'm relatively happy with mine... it's a little on the small side (18') and the windshield is nice for boat riding but isn't ideal for fishing... I'm looking to add GPS/Depth finder and it's going to be difficult to mount in a spot that is usable from bow and console.
It has a ski pole that puts the ski rope over the motor so it isn't in the way. The two back outside seats, in this picture, have pedestals so you can set them on the bow and stern.

As others have said, this compromise sucks. Spend 15K on an old nautique for skiing and $10K on a used bay boat for fishing.

What size boat are you looking for and how much fishing or skiing will be done?

I am thinking of a 20ft bay boat with a bit more fishing that skiing.

Just get a fishing boat (bay boat) and use it for skiing. Problem solved.

its going to be hard to incorporate both on a boat that size. Get a bay boat, that has a tow point for knee-boards and tubes. Wakeboarding for beginners is a hell of a lot easier with a tower, however t-tops are not always strong enough to be a tow point.
Ski boats are built for seating and storage, fishing boats are built for standing and fishing specific storage/mobility. So the trade off sucks to try to put them both together

Bay boat
Pick up KR and let him ride in the back to help with the wake

center console for the win. 20 ft with a 200 will pull tubes/wakeboards no problem and when you go fishing you won't hate it.

Buy a 12 ft john boat and spend the rest on cheap booze and hookers

Get 22 foot to 24 if possible, the lake can be real bitch when fishing.
