Watching reply and immediately levying sanctions against violators?

NBA DLeague is testing out using techs to punish flopping next season iirc

Fining them 5k a pop isn't doing anything to deter it. In theory, you could change the outcome of a game just for risking 5k.
Make it 25k fine each flop and then we'll see who continues this BS.

Define "flopping"
Either:
a) acting as if a foul/infraction has occurred when one clearly has not;
or,
b) dramatizing/exaggerating an actual foul/infraction in an attempt to draw a greater sanction

No. Flopping should be encouraged, imo.

Here's an idea: give technicals for flopping.
Posted on 6/9/14 at 1:43 pm to udtiger
1st offense - 5k fine
2nd offense - 25k fine
3rd offense - 50k fine (1 game suspension)
And continue to go up from that. It's destroying what's left of the sport. Of course review everything to make 100% sure LDO.

I'm cool with that, but I would start it at your 2nd offense amount.
1st - 25k
2nd - 50k (one game suspension)
3rd - 100k (3 game suspension)

I'm not going to say flopping should be allowed, but I would think that having officials call it could backfire.
Do you guys think that it could go to each team's favor? Calling a flop that was really a knock down compared to actually "flopping?" I just see it being a too opinionated call to be accurate, although I have seen some pretty obvious ones.
Was there a "flop" in one of the finals games that I have missed? I haven't played that close attention.

Dleague will be testing it out. You want to make sure you aren't ejecting a bunch of guys for flops.

Make it a foul. Hockey has a rule for "embellishment". Even if its a legit penalty, the flopper goes to the penalty box as well. Soccer is supposed to give yellow cards for flopping under the regulation against cynical play, but I've never seen it actually called.
Don't go with fines, make it a foul. A technical for flopping would be a great attempt.

It'd have to be techs too. Otherwise in a game 7 everyone will be falling.

leFlop fans will not support this...

Then tack it on to the next series. In the finals make it an immediate ejection from the game.

So you agree with Max Kellerman's wife too?

In my opinion, they should have an official off court reviewing that shite real time, with every possible angle there is, and if it's determined to be a flop, there should be an immediate technical foul and a change of possession. Unless the offender is already on defense.
If they continue to "punish" players by fining them, or doing shite after the game is already decided, then nothing will change. There is no risk factor. If players are issued technical fouls or some kind of personal foul with change of possession involved, then they will change their behavior because it could change the outcome of a game like the flopping in some cases does now.

Because replay works so well in basketball for out of bounds calls.
