Is this being reported at all???

The actual story of his "capture" has been seldom reported. There was talk from guys in the unit (that the Rolling Stone article touched on), but a few issues were at hand:

1. Most of the guys were still in the service when the initial reporting was going on.

2. They were forced to sign non-disclosure agreements regarding this incident (that, in and of itself, is weird as hell to me...I just had to sign a general one at the end of my service). Now that many are out of the service, they simply don't GAF and want the truth to be heard, especially with the press this is getting.

3. They were telling their story to a degree, but no one was really listening or reporting.

You must remember - this was summer 2009 when this happened, and the Afghan surge was all out at that point. I suspect the brass and administration tried to filter the info to keep public support for the mission high and to keep the Taliban from claiming some sort of victory.
