I took my driving test in a gold 1977 Ford LTD 2 door.

I drove that a 1978 Ford Econoline Van. It looked like this but white and no small window on the back. It was my dad's old painting van.

The first car I bought with my money was a 1984 Chevy Cavalier.

My first car

1967 3 on the tree Chevy with gas tank behind the seat. No AC or heater, gas gauge didn't work.

I borrowed my moms car or my dad's yote if I wanted something nice.

Then when I started high school I got a brand nes 4 cyl 1994 single cab ford ranger.

I'd never give my kid a new car at 16. They'd get it used just like me and my sister did.

My first truck was an Isuzu pickup that had no tailgate and had been rear ended twice and not fixed. Yeah I got made fun of a lot at my private school. Lol

Not necessarily. There's surgery for that, and it's still far better psychologically and healthier than carrying around all that weight.

never will understand this new tradition that it is a kids birthright to get a car on their 16th birthday, if the kids are behind this, they've really outsmarted the parents

Both my kids (at 17) got used cars as their first. The cars were nice and clean and nothing they were ashamed of, but no way I would have given them new ones.

Nobody gave me a car until I graduated from college, and then it was a POS LTD. Kids are lucky to get any car at 16.

that was my first, that thing let me down so many times, I swore that whenever I had $, I would always have new, dependable cars, did have a lot of good times in the back seat out by the lakes though
