I remember cabs being fairly cheap in NYC or at least I expect them to be more. Taxi in Dallas is Houston are not cheap

Yeah...unless you're caught in traffic rates(which does happen), rates are fairly reasonable. I guess just because it's so congested compared to other cities, but Atlanta cabs are killer.
