Boston, Mass in August. Where should I stay?

I'm heading to Boston in August for a wedding.
We are going to get there a couple days early to check out the town because we have never been there. We are going to Fenway, Cheers etc...I want to hit some pubs also.
I want a hotel for convenience not necessarily comfort. I mean I don't want to stay in an Econo Lodge but for example I'll take a Courtyard over a Ritz if it's much more convenient to the local spots.
Thanks,

The Residence Inn Boston Harbor on Tudor Wharf is what you are looking for. Its a Marriott property with great management and you get a nice little suite with a kitchen in it. Its RIGHT on the harbor and close to everything. If you want to ball stay at the Boston Harbor Hotel.

Westin Copley Square. Stayed there last year for a week. Great service and the location is perfect for pubs, Fenway, and Cheers. Good luck.

Boston is an awesome city. Went there this winter and had a blast. Make sure and grab a lobster roll somewhere

I was there this past weekend for a wedding at intercontinental boston. Worked for me.
I'll be back there this weekend for another wedding (completely random) but I'll be at the hyatt boston harbor for that one.
Boston is a cool town though. Been a few times before. Getting around by cab is quick and not that expensive if you go that route. Of course you have the T as well

The Omni Parker is right on the Common. Can walk anywhere you would want to go from there.

The best lobster roll I've had here is at Neptune Oyster House. A little inconvenient because it's a really small place (just like everywhere else in the North End) and they don't take reservations, so the wait can be long, but they take your cell number and call you when your table is ready so you can explore the city while you wait.

I always stay at the Sheraton connected to the mall. Close to everything and attAched mall with restaurants.

That place is legit but The Barking Crab is the greatest thing going in that part of the USA! Get the King Platter, its a 10 pound lobster with 4lbs of crabs....best thing EVER! The wait can be long and it costs like $250-$300 depending on the market price, not counting drinks, but it is worth every penny and more. SO GOOD!

A Hotel is better than a motel. A motel is better than a shelter. A shelter is better than on the streets.

We stayed at the Embassy Suites by the airport. Was a good but cheaper because it was further out, but you're a walk across a soccer field from a T stop to get wherever you want.
Also, it's walking distance from Santarpios...so that's even better.
