Of course not. It's also not required to tip a stander.
I didnt say required. It is absolutely customary and the OP admitted that he is more than aware of that custom, therefore he is knowingly being a dipshit.

You can if you feel like, or don't.
Agreed.

The point should be stander shouldn't have actually walked after him and yelled at him for not doing so.
Yes he absolutely should have. That's how the world works. You take something for nothing from a person who works for it and you will be yelled at.

Ok, so...you agree that in this situation someone has the right to tip or not, whatever they feel like. Then you also say that the "performer" should have pursued OP yelling for not tipping? Well, make up your mind. This guy is in a "profession" where he knows good and damn well he is "working" for tips. He is at the mercy and whim or passerbys. Someone not tipping absolutely doesn't make him in the right to talk shite.

OP didn't take anything from the guy. It's not like he reached his hand in a hat and stole money from him. He took the dude's frickin picture.
If someond didn't tip a waiter or their barber, which I imagine applies to some people here, would you advocate that person following them to the parking lot hassling them?
