4 weeks. It's a strange bacteria. I would wait. The chances of those ticks carrying any disease is very low. If you feel sick, light headed, etc, then go.
ETA:
In terms of tick disease's, Lyme is not the main one to worry about. Rocky Mountain spotted fever will kill you.

We really don't have Lyme disease down here. Here is the CDC's map of cases from 2011.
