I took advanced screenwriting in college (1999). Great class.
We watched:
Jacob's Ladder
North by Northwest
Sling Blade
Good Will Hunting

I don't know about screenwriting so much, but overall, there will be blood was terrible and no country for old men was not.

Oh, there is definitely an objective nature to it, but I don't believe in following the formula every time you write. You shouldn't have to have a turning point at page 26 in every script. That's basically what we were told to do. follow the diagram
Yeah that much rigidity is stupid

There will be Blood was not at any point, entertaining.
Everyone thinks the message was so deep. But it really wasn't. Both took their craziness to a higher level until the one who did the first slapping got slapped with a bowling pin.
Give me a break.

Gee I dunno, maybe they all wanted to watch a movie they probably havent seen yet?
Or maybe they like Ben Stiller?
Or maybe it was the shorter movie?
Or maybe they just wanted to piss you off.

In all honesty, I haven't seen either movie, but if I had to choose right now which one I'd rather watch, it would be Walter Mitty no question. I'd eventually like to see both, and I feel like NCFOM is one that I'd have to be in a certain mood to watch, and I'm not sure class is where I'd want to digest that one.

I had Rick Blackwood. For FMA 2001, I had Jean Brager. Best professor ever.
