Not having that crutch should make the offense better overall. You hate to lose a good player, but I think the offense will be much more consistent and flexible next season.
JOB was never a crutch. He carried that offense when everyone else was afraid to be aggressive and score.
He once broke a triple team and slammed the ball for an and one

NBA said the same thing I said - not strong enough. Look at games and it is obvious. Outmuscled on rebounds and when he was trying for a putback. His great defense was mainly off ball when he blocked a shot after one of his teammates let their guy get by for a drive. He also benefitted on offense a huge amount from playing with JOB. With all those double and triple teams on JOB he got a lot of easy shots.
I go with the three guard lineup. If we are going to really run it makes sense. It is amazing that so many basketball fans are clueless about two things. Simmons doesn't come next year and we only lose three but have four coming in so someone else has to go.
My question is if CJJ redshirts Malik Morgan does that count against the 13 limit?

That's my mentality. The only problem I have with it is who backs up those players? Q at PG but besides that, we dont really have many options. Bridgewater possibly at 3 but that's the same as having Martin at 3. There will be times we have 3 guards but it may not be prominent.

Yes. Unless, for some reason, he agrees to pay his own way and is considered a walk-on.

I just don't see anyone taking a walk-on spot. I know a lot of people like the idea of Hammink doing so, but I doubt it happens.

Someone will either transfer out, or someone will not make it into the class. Hopefully both don't happen. I personally would prefer Quarterman stay around and wouldn't be too broken up about Patterson not qualifying, but that's just me.

I feel the same way. I think he could be special as a junior/senior starter for this program. Still would like to keep Patterson though.

My reasoning on Patterson is that Montverde was on TV like 6 times this year, yet Patterson was never in the line up because he was always suspended for one reason or another.

Yea. I liked him in the 1 game I saw him, but besides that he never played.

So, it's a grades issue? Or disciplinary? I don't think Patterson's a huge loss, but it does put the staff in more of a hunt for guards. Chad Lott's recruitment would probably heat up.

He was suspended for disciplary issues. But may not make it due to academic issues.

I don't know what people are seeing in Quarterman to make them think he's going to be special. He was good on D, but below average on offense. He can't finish at the rim and has no consistent jump shot.
So he's an OK player, but nothing special. Sure, he can develop and improve, but from what I saw this past year, he's not enough of an offensive threat.
26% FG
21% 3-pointers
55% free throws

The last month of the season he was much better shooting and finishing around rim, but his biggest worth is his ability to drive to the lane and pass out.
You can easily get better at finishing at the rim with work. Same with free throws.

Not really.
Since Feb. 15
7-29 (24.1%) FG
3-13 (23.1%) 3-pt
3-4 (75%) FT
Since Feb. 1
10-38 (26.3) FG
4-18 (22.2%) 3-pt
5-8 (62.5%) FT

well it felt like he was better.
I still think those are things that he can fix. I mean Stringer improved his 3 point shot almost 10% in a year. Quarterman can do similar if he works hard. Not saying he will, but I like what he brings. Plus I like the idea of having a 3rd year player at PG next year after Hickey graduates.
Last 5 games:
3pt% - 33.3%
Fg% - 37.5%
FT% - 75%
