"Nail pusher"
I counted the nails in my boat and there are 190. I distinctly remember swinging my hammer 463 times which averages 2.4 strikes per nail!! Not too bad for pushing!!
Actually, I may have had the most bent nails of anybody there and maybe the most hammer marks in the veneer, but I assure you that nobody appreciates their boat and their time spent with you more than I.
Thank you
Frank

Hopefully I can get back on mine tomorrow evening. Gotta let the glue set where I blew out the rub rails rushing to finish. Idiot. Then I can put my end plates on and start sanding. Keep me updated on how yours is coming, boss. I may copycat what you do if it looks good

Here is what it looked like when i got it home:
I jigsawed off the bottom trim as close as i could...then sanded the rest. I have actually left 1/8 inch or so on the bottom...hope thats not a problem. I figured I could use taht to seal a leak if there was one
Putty'd all the nails/screws/bottom seam lines
Sanded the putty to smooth them down......
Its actually pretty dang smooth. I was pleasantly surprised. Its ready for primer and paint...or stain. Havent decided what I am doing yet. Wife is gonna help me do it, she is good at that kinda stuff. We have time to tag team it next weekend.

Boss, you might want to sand the bottom edge flush with the sides. Leaving a edge out, you take a chance of ripping some of the bottom if you hit something hard in the water.
looks good.
looks good.

I know we have a Bleeding Purple on here. I may ask the admin to change my name to Turning Purple, which is the color of one of my fingers after a wayward hammer strike!!!!

The winner of the raffle 2 man pirogue going home with a twin.
And a great bunch of guys that I had the pleasure to meet and hopefully passed something on.
