Juniah is an OLB in our 3-4 system, DE when 4-3. Last year we ran mostly 4-3 due to injuries, but the 3-4 will be our primary formation. By DE I mean a 3-4 one, which we have Cam and Hicks. This is a position that is set for a while. NT on the other hand is filled but could use an upgrade

Anything other than wr, lb, oline

Yes I did not list QB, and that was intentional.
None of this year's QB crop screams first round to me.

2015 could see us with none of our current OLB starters. does that not change your mind?
No, because that is assuming that the FO would just let all of our OLB's walk away.
I agree we need linebackers.. But I think we need coverage ability at both positions there. We have a great DL that can get pressure by themselves so any pass rush from the linebackers is just a bonus. We are very deficient in that area when it comes to defending the pass.

Who is to say we couldn't then just take a wr. Ebron is a legit talent and if they feel he is more talented than the wrs available in Rd 1 I would love it. I don't care who who the elite mismatch is as long as there is one.

Only ones that would anger me are FB, K, P, and LS as those aren't full time positions.
I would be surprised by C(none with 1st round grades), OT(2 starters are set for 3 years and we have a backup), and S(2 deep at each spot if Ball is legit).
Now I wouldn't be surprised if they took those in the 2nd round or later(maybe a little surprised in the 2nd) or if a guy fell and is by far BPA.
Depending on who's there I could make a reasonable argument for any other position. I may not agree with it, but it can be reasoned.

The format is screwed up on the site so I can't tell for sure, but is that you that hasn't spend money yet on playthedraft? Someone on the fantasy board wants to play and it's full now, so if you're not interested I'll give him your spot.

QB, K, C, OG, DT in that order. Yes, drafting QB in the first would anger me more than a kicker even, because there is little reason to expect anyone to see the field other than #9 for at least the next four years.

Yeah it's me and you can kick me out. I'm sorry it really looked interesting but I just don't have the time to really invest in it and do it right.

No big deal. Take pride in finishing ahead of two people.

I guess.
Yeah I was going to tell you to drop me anyway because everytime I try to start one of my kids needs something or wants to play. I think I got to start scrolling through the list of players once.

I want a beast WR, LB, or best available OL

@CajunRevolution, I remember a time when we relied on FGs to win games. I did not enjoy that time period.
On Ebron, from what has been said of him he is very much like Jimmy. Great pass catcher, does not block.
So getting him would definitely help in the WR department because that's all him and Jimmy are good for.

quote:Yeah I would say no matter how you classify JG, we still need LBs. ILB, OLB, doesn't matter.
I agree we need linebackers
The only ones we are guaranteed to have beyond this year are Lofton, Hawthorne, Reddick, Knox, and Johnson. That's not a good look, especially considering the 2 starters are overpriced and the young guys haven't gotten any real playing time.
I'd prefer a guy that can cover and occasionally blitz over a guy that can pass rush and occasionally cover. We have more pass rushers than coverage guys in the front 7 by far.
That said I'm not against taking a pass rusher, it'd would just be my secondary preference.

No position per se would anger me. As long as the player rates then take him. That said, any Center or specialist at #27 would be a reach, so no go.
For many other positions it is just one or two that might fall into Must-Pick value range. Like Ebron at TE or Mosley at ILB. You build championship teams BPA.
One of the greatest Saints examples of BPA was Deuce in 2001 at #23. He was an overwhelming BPA ranked Top 12 as the second best RB that year. Saints had just finished off the first playoff win in team history. They looked primed. Ricky Williams was 23 and just had a 1000 yard season. Deuce only had 16 carries his first year. At that point many prolly said it was a poor choice. Hmmm, this guy is so good we can trade Williams. He then ran for 3029 yards with 116 catches the next two seasons.
4 pg discussion on Bridgewater at #27

I agree with drafting BPA, but I do think there's a certain amount of subjectivity to that. At any given pick there is probably a good 2-3 players that would be considered a BPA by any given team. There are exceptions to this (ala Deuce), and those are must draft scenarios. I guess I think there has to be a weighing of BPA vs need in that if Ebron is there along with Cooks and Fuller then there needs to be serious discussion as to if the talent difference between Ebron is enough to pass up one of the other two who fill needs. (whew, long sentence)

You know it will be a cb or wr. Less likely to be a de or olb, but possible.
So, in summation, high probability cb/wr and low probability olb/de. I'd bet the house on it, so no reason to inject doubt or anger.

S, RB, OLB (Only because I feel ILB is a much bigger need for us), OT, OG, a small WR (A.K.A. Brandin Cooks)
Posted on 4/16/14 at 1:48 pm to Midget Death Squad
ya, it's all subject to the grade.
Let's try an Ebron example:
Saints rank Ebron #14 on their Big Board. The next guys remaining are Yankey #23, Nix #25, Amaro #28, Allen Robinson #30, & CB Breelamd #33. That scenario, Ebron without blinking.
But if the Saints ranked Ebron #20 in the same scenario you could see one of the others taken.
Or Ebron as your #14 ranked could be passed on if a #20 ranked CB or WR was available.
